Hosting San Diego State on Saturday morning in the Marina, LMU rowing fielded a pair of boats in varsity 8 races, and two more in varsity 4 competition.

The Lions took second behind SDSU in the Varsity 8, clocking a time of 6:28.2 to finish ahead of UCSD at 6:52.7.

The second Varsity 8 saw LMU rival San Diego State alone, turning in a time of 6:56.36.

LMU’s Varsity 4 also went head-to-head with the Aztecs, managing a time of 7:46.6.

The final event of the day, the 2V4, saw San Diego State field a pair of boats and the Lions finish second in the three-team race. The competition proved close, with LMU posting a mark of 7:38.8 to finish behind SDSU B (7:37.7) and ahead of the A boat (7:39.1).

LMU will now prepare for the WIRA Championships on April 28 and 29.
