For the second straight match, LMU (6-2) rode the strength of its singles lineup to victory, this time taking down Penn (5-6) by a score of 4-3 on Sunday from the LMU Tennis Center.

The two teams split the first two doubles decisions, with #22 Veronica Miroshnichenko / Eva Marie Voracek defeating Lina Qostal/Ashley Zhu, 6-1, at the top of the order. With the doubles point on the line on court two, J. Rodrigues-Benito/Oj Singh defeated Yesica De Lucas / Sofiya Gaisina, 7-6 (4) to earn the point for Penn.

#27 Miroshnichenko quickly knotted the match score with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Qostal on court one, and de Lucas followed with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph at #3 in the order to put LMU on top, 2-1.

After Penn captured the point on court four, Camila Tumosa reclaimed the 3-2 lead for LMU by way of a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Ria Vaidya. Singh kept Penn alive with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win over Gaisina on court six, leaving the match decision in the hands of Voracek and Zhu at #2 singles. LMU's freshman phenom outlasted Zhu in a hard-fought, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (3) match, handing LMU the team victory.

The Lions will return to action on Wednesday when they host Seton Hall at 11 a.m.
