The 2019 Athletics Hall of Fame Class has been announced! Loyola Marymount University continues the celebration of its incredible athletics legacy by introducing our Athletics Hall of Fame Class for 2019. The LMU Athletics Hall of Fame Class
will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 16 at Roski Dining Hall at 6:30 p.m. following the men's basketball game against BYU. The West Coast Conference matchup will start at 1 p.m. Some of the greatest names in LMU sports history compromise the class, including coaches and record holders from six sports.

Like many of the champions above, women's volleyball made quite the impression this past week at the NCAA Division I Volleyball Tournament. The
Lions swept Duke on Friday in impressive fashion, 25-16, 25-22, 25-15. The win granted them the right to face regional-host and top-ranked Stanford on Saturday night in the second round.
The Lions hung tough, but the Cardinal advanced in straight-sets to the Sweet 16, ending LMU's postseason run.
Men's Basketball put on a show at Gersten Pavilion on Thursday night,
beating Bethesda by 56 points. Five Lions scored in double-figures and LMU improved on their program-record with an 8-0 start to the season. On Sunday night on the national stage,
the Lions suffered their first loss of the 2018-19 campaign with a 82-58 setback at UCLA. LMU will have an opportunity to begin a new streak Wednesday night at Cal State Fullerton.
Education Day was another hit as women's basketball over 1,800 people, the majority of whom were school children, last Tuesday for a noon game. The Lions used the energy of the crowd to
defeat UC Davis 60-53. LMU has one more home game Friday night at Cal State Northridge before returning to campus for a home matchup with Long Beach State on Dec. 14.
The pool was active all weekend as LMU's swim team competed in the three-day Collegiate Winter Invitational.
The Lions took second overall in the women's rankings with a score of 1519.
The West Coast Conference recognized several Lions on their All-Academic teams this past week. From volleyball,

Leo Zulli earned WCC All-Academic honorable mention for their contributions both on and off the field in 2018.
LMU Softball will host its next Elite Clinic for athletes to enhance their abilities and work ethic, on Monday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Those in attendance will get to use LMU's state-of-the-art indoor hitting and pitching facilities and get instructions and demonstrations to emphasize the fundamental skills of pitching, hitting, fielding, and throwing. Camp will also include some Q & A, game situations, and live hitting on the field.
