WCC Release

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced the 2018 Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, the conference announced Wednesday. Shelby Cormier and Emma Tyrnauer represent Loyola Marymount University on the All-Academic Team, with Emily Carman, Chloe Colbert, Jackie Fiacco, Samantha Jordan, Kallie Kampfl, Ali King, and Melissa Lewis earning All-Academic Honorable Mention recognition.

Two student-athletes are making their second appearances in Kendall Bietsch of Pacific and Emma Tyrnauer of Loyola Marymount.

Emma Tyrnauer played in 78 career games, including all 20 this season. Her 78 career starts rank second in program history and her 6,636 minutes are the fourth-most of any LMU player all-time.

Shelby Cormier has played in 69 career games for the Lions, including all 20 this season. Cormier has been an integral piece to LMU's back line and continues to control the defense from her center back position, leading all field players in minutes played.

This season, 25 student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.75 or better. In total, 46 honorees turned in GPA's above a 3.50.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to her team.
