LAS VEGAS, Nev. – At the annual West Coast Conference Basketball Tip-Off event at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. on Wednesday, the LMU women's basketball team was predicted to finish fourth overall in the WCC women's basketball preseason poll, as voted by the league's 10 head coaches.

Gonzaga took the top spot in the poll as they racked up 79 points with a six-point edge over the No. 2 ranking Saint Mary's (73 points). BYU was slotted third (66 points). LMU totaled 52 points in the voting to secure fourth place. San Diego (5th, 49 points), Santa Clara (6th, 35 points), Pacific (7th, 32 points) San Francisco (8th, 32 points), Pepperdine (9th, 24 points), and Portland (10th, 9 points) round out the WCC women's basketball rankings.

LMU senior Gabby Green was voted to the 2018-19 All-WCC Preseason Women's Basketball Team. The 10-player team is also voted by the WCC coaches. Green, a 6-2 guard, was named the 2017-18 WCC Newcomer of the Year and earned a spot on the All-WCC First Team following her first season on the court with the Lions after transferring from Cal and sitting out in 2016-17.

LMU will open its season with an exhibition game against Point Loma on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at Gersten Pavilion and the team's home-opener takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 6 vs. UCLA at 7:30 p.m.
