LOS ANGELES â€" The strong play of the Loyola Marymount women's tennis team continued on Wednesday afternoon, despite matching up against a ranked foe. The Lions (6-3) took the doubles point, but fell to USC, 4-3.

LMU impressed on the doubles courts with both pairs on the first two courts taking down ranked Trojans. Reigning back-to-back West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week, Siobhan Anderson and Anna Romeka, kept up their strong play and defeated the #34 pair in college tennis, Katz/Smith, 6-4. Jessica Perez and Elvira Juravliova clinched the point by besting #T74 Valdes/Westby, 6-4, to wrap up doubles competition.

Juravliova followed her doubles win with a singles victory on the No. 2 court, while Camila Tumosa won her sixth straight match from the No. 5 singles position, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3.

Conference play begins next for the Lions, with a trip to Saint Mary's and Pacific on Friday and Saturday. The weekend concludes with a Sunday match at Sacramento State.
