Finishing a string of three home matches in as many days to close out the home portion of its schedule, the LMU women's tennis team (9-11) defeated visiting Oregon (11-11), 5-2, from the LMU Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.

Oregon had to forfeit the doubles match on court three due to a lack of a duo to play in that position, but LMU earned a victory on court two to lock up the point. Jessica Perez and Elvira Juravliova were leading Nia Rose and Alyssa Tobita, 5-3, on court one when the doubles were decided, as Anna Romeka and Tatijana Sheikhan topped Marlou Kluiving and Shweta Sangwan, 6-2, on court two.

Sheikhan followed up the doubles win with a victory on court five of singles, defeating Paloma Gomez, 6-1, 6-3, to put LMU on top 2-0.

After Tobita earned a win on court two for Oregon, Perez finalized a victory over Rose on court one, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1, in a hard-fought three-set match.

Two more three-set matches concluded play, with Kluiving defeating Romeka, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, on court four, and Juravliova recording a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win on court three for LMU. Juravliova has now won seven of her last eight decisions.

LMU will hit the road for its final two regular season matches, beginning with a trip to San Francisco on April 22.
