LMU women's tennis (3-5) won the doubles point, but eventually dropped a match to Georgetown (5-3), 4-3, on Tuesday from the LMU Tennis Center.

Jessica Perez and Elvira Juravliova played at #1 doubles for LMU, defeating Victoire Saperstein/Risa Nakagawa, 6-3, to open play. LMU promptly sealed the doubles point on court two, as Kristine Kouyoumjian and Jaclyn Findlay defeated Sophia Barnard and Cecilia Lynham, 6-4.

Juravliova was the first to post a victory in singles play, knocking off Cecilia Lynham, 6-1, 6-1, on court four to extend the LMU advantage to 2-0. The native of Moldova is now 6-2 on the season.

Georgetown won the next two matches on courts two and six to draw back even in the match, 2-2. Andrea Crespo reclaimed the Lion lead with a win on court three over Sara Swift, 6-2, 6-4, but Daphne de Chatellus topped Julia Norlin, 6-2, 6-3, on court five to force all the attention to court one and a deciding match between Perez and Saperstein.

Saperstein had won the first set, 6-3, but Perez forced a deciding set three with a 6-4 victory of her own in the second. Playing the only three-set match of the day, Saperstein took control of the third, eventually earning the 6-2 victory to hand Georgetown the road win over the Lions.

LMU will have little time to dwell on the setback, returning to action tomorrow when it hosts Utah State at 1:30 p.m. from the LMU Tennis Center.
