Box Score

Steven Reveles belted a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to break a 4-4 tie and hand Nebraska (7-6) a 6-4 victory in game one of a doubleheader before the Huskers shut out LMU (6-8), 7-0, in game two to sweep a pair of games from Lincoln, Neb. on Friday night.

LMU led 4-1 headed to the bottom of the seventh in game one, but Nebraska scored twice in the seventh, once in the eighth, and the two in the ninth to walk off with the win. Ryan Boldt contributed a two-out two-RBI single in the seventh to cut the deficit to 4-3 before a single, a hit by pitch and an error allowed the Huskers to load the bases with nobody out in the eighth. Reliever Blake Redman induced a double play on the ensuing play to alleviate the pressure, but the tying run scampered home.

Elijah Dilday got the bottom of the ninth inning started for Nebraska, shooting a triple into the left-centerfield gap to set the table for Reveles' heroics. The walk-off homer was the first allowed by the Lions since March 8, 2013 at Oklahoma State.

Junior J.D. Busfield was stellar in the start for LMU, tossing his second consecutive quality start. The right-hander dealt 7.0 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks with seven strikeouts in the no-decision.

Redman, who allowed the homer in the ninth, was ultimately charged with the loss after tossing 1.0+ inning and surrendering a pair of hits. He is now 1-2 on the year.

Carrying momentum into the second game, Nebraska exploded for four runs in the first, including three on a home run from Taylor Fish. The round-tripper was Fish's first career homer.

LMU could not figure out starter Derek Burkamper, as the righty scattered three hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over 7.0 innings. Reece Eddins and Zack Engelken each contributed one scoreless inning to secure the shutout.

The decision moved Burkamper to 1-0 on the year. LMU starter, Brenton Arriaga, was tagged with the loss after allowing seven runs on five hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. Arriaga is now 0-3 on the season.

The shutout loss was the fourth of the year for LMU.

LMU will look to rebound tomorrow when it plays game three of the four-game series at Nebraska. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. PT.
