Sept. 10, 2015 SAN BRUNO, Calif. â€" LMU senior Connor Campbell has been named by the West Coast Conference to its 2015-16 Preseason All-WCC team. The announcement comes as the new season is set to get underway on Monday for the men's golf team.
The Lions return six golfers from last year's roster, including Campbell, who qualified for the NCAA Regional a year ago. He was a first-team All-WCC selection in 2015 after placing third at the 2015 WCC Championships in April.
Campbell enters his senior season with 90 rounds under his belt, lowering his stroke average to 73.26 a year ago. Based on finishes in tournament's he has played in, his posted a 70.7 percent winning percentage.
The Lions open the season on Monday at the 2015 SMC Invitational hosted at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. The 2015 field includes University of Arizona, BYU, Fresno State, Gonzaga, LMU, Oregon State, Pacific, host Saint Mary's, San Diego, San Diego State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Texas State, UC Davis and Washington State.
