The LMU women's tennis team (3-15, 0-4 WCC) dropped a home match, 5-2, to Santa Clara (6-7) on Thursday at the LMU Tennis Center.

Andrea Crespo and Julia Norlin each notched a victory for the Lions, while Jessica Perez and Ellie Grossman forced three sets in setbacks. Perez, playing at #1 singles, took the opening set, 6-1, but ultimately fell in a tiebreaker in the third, 7-6 (6).

Crespo, a junior from Valencia, Spain, made quick work of her opponent at #2 singles, dispatching Nabila Farah, 6-2, 6-0. It was a similar story for Norlin, who defeated Danielle Zinn, 6-4, 6-1.

The Lions will return to action on Saturday when they host #57 San Francisco at 1:30 p.m.
