LMU women's tennis (5-20) dropped a 4-0 decision to #53 Portland (16-5) on Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the 2015 WCC Championship tournament being played at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. LMU had advanced to the quarterfinals by way of an upset 4-3 victory over Santa Clara on Wednesday morning, but the 40th season of LMU women's tennis ended with the loss to the Pilots.

Just as it did yesterday, LMU split the first two courts of doubles, but this time it was Portland that would earn the point on the decisive third court. Julia Norlin and Andrea Crespo recorded a victory at #3 doubles to match the win for Portland at #1, but Maja Mladenovic and S. Van den Aarssen defeated Jessica Perez and Anna Romeka in a tight 8-7 (3) match on court two to steal the point.

Portland's singles play was impressive in defeating LMU, as the Pilots recorded straight-set victories on courts two, three and six to wrap up the match. Kristine Kouyoumjian was the only Lion to record a set victory, earning a 7-6 (1) decision at #4 singles before her match went unfinished. While she dropped the first set of her match, Ellie Grossman also played Saroop Dhatt close on court five, dropping a tight 7-6 tiebreaker before her match went unfinished.
