The LMU women's tennis team (3-18, 0-7 WCC) celebrated Senior Day on Saturday, but #55 Portland (14-5, 6-2 WCC) earned a 5-2 victory in the match.

Jessica Perez and Anna Romeka impressed in doubles play, shutting out Emily Gould and Amanda Zuidema, 6-0, to give LMU a victory on court three. Unfortunately for the Lions, Portland won matches on the top two courts, taking the doubles point by a count of 2-1.

Romeka also posted a victory in singles play, topping S. Van Den Aarssen in a three-set tiebreaking match. Romeka won the first set 6-2, but fell 7-6 in set three. With the match already decided, Romeka was forced into a 10-point tiebreaker where she won 10-4.

LMU's other singles victory came on court four as Kristine Kouyoumjian bested Jelena Lazarevic in three sets, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.

The Lions will finish up the regular season next week, traveling to #41 Saint Mary's on Thursday before playing at Pacific on Saturday.
