ELK GROVE, Calif. - Freshman Lawrence Ree, playing as an individual, shot a final round even par (72) to finished at a four-under 212 to claim individual medalist honors at the 2014 Sacramento State Invitational on Tuesday. He tied with Northern Colorado's Ben Krueger to share the title.
As a team, the Lions finished tied for third as senior Tyler Torano added his ninth top-5 finish, hitting a one-under 71 on the final round to finish in a tie for third. He posted a three-round 220.
Northern Colorado won the team title with a three-round 866 while Chico State finished second at 873. The Lions tied with Southern Utah with a three-round 876.
Sophomore Chase Nicolai finished second for the Lions at a tie for 16th overall shooting a 220 on the tournament. Connor Campbell was tied for 27th with a 223 with freshman Blake Meek right behind him with a 224. Braden Baer shot a 230.
The Lions will travel to the Fresno State Lexus Classic on March 10-11 at San Joaquin Country Club.
