Results

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The road has been kind to the Lions in conference play. Saturday LMU (7-13, 4-3 WCC) got its fourth consecutive WCC road victory with a 5-2 win against Portland (5-14, 0-6 WCC). The Lions won on all courts in doubles and won the majority of singles contests against the Pilots.

In doubles, Ashley Anderson and Tory Parravi defeated Polyakova and Hoath, 7-6 (6-0). Elisaveta Pironkova and Reka Rohonyi beat Gorence and Fuchs, 9-7. April Bisharat and Claudia Razzeto also got a victory winning 8-2 over Tucker and Mahairas.

Bisharat continued her good form, coming back to defeat Polyakova 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in #1 singles. Parravi also made a dramatic comeback to beat Fuchs 0-6, 7-5, 6-1, on court two. Rohonyi beat Mahairas 6-3, 6-0. Rounding out the Lions' wins was Anderson's win over Gorence 6-1, 6-0. Pironkova fell to Hoath 6-1, 6-0, and Miya Jin lost to Tucker 7-6, 5-7, 10-3.

With the victory, the Lions finished 4-1 in WCC road matches with only one defeat to highly-ranked Pepperdine. LMU closes out its home schedule next week with two contests: first, the Lions welcome Cal State Northridge Tuesday, Apr.17 at 1:30 p.m. This Friday, Apr. 20, women's tennis celebrates its seniors and LMUat100 as the Lions face BYU in the team's Centennial match. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. after pre-match festivities.
