LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU Track team will travel across Los Angeles to UCLA this weekend for the RJ/JJK invitational. The Lions will race on both Friday and Saturday in the 1500m, 5k and mile distances. This competitive meet will be yet another opportunity for the Lions to set personal records and continue to improve over the season.

For the women, LMU's Tara Erdmann and Sheree Shea were both accepted into the Invitational mile race on Saturday afternoon. Erdmann and Shea will face top competition from across the nation including athletes from San Francisco, Michigan and host school UCLA. Both Erdmann and Shea are coming off stellar performances at the Stanford Invitational two weeks ago and should be competitive in this shorter and faster distance race.

The rest of the women will be competing on Friday afternoon in the 1500m race. The Lions will have a strong pack including Brieanna Delaney, Brittnie Munoz, Jessica Mumaugh, Cynthia Chaidez, Caroline Draper and Shea Franklin in the second section of the 1500m race. The ladies will be up against top competition from across the nation and for most of the LMU pack, it will be their first 1500m race this season.

For the men, the Lions also have the majority entered in the 1500m race. Freshman Kevin Joerger, Weston Strum and Drew Dalton. All three already have individual wins this season and should be in the mix with the top pack. Sophomores Sterling Lockert and Tyre Johnson will be looking to get some speed in their legs for this race while senior Connor Pastoor will be in his first 1500m race this season. Finally freshman Mike Evans and sophomore Oran Arms who have been racing this distance all season will be on track for a personal best. Also for the men, Greg Innes will race in the 5k and should have a solid performance in a competitive heat.
