Results

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Lions closed out their regular season in Santa Barbara, Calif. yesterday afternoon where they took on the UCSB Gauchos. The Lions were led by April Bisharat who earned a win in singles at the number one singles spot over Natalia Lozano of UCSB, but dropped the match overall 6-1. The Lions will travel to San Diego for the West Coast Conference Tournament this next weekend.

In doubles play the Lions dropped all three courts to the Gauchos. Miya Jin and Estelle LaPorte took Meehan/Damion to a close 8-6 but were unable to get the overall win. The Gauchos took the early lead over the Lions securing the doubles point.

In singles play the Lions were led by April Bisharat who earned a win at the number one position over Natalia Lozano of UCSB. After dropping the first set 4-6, Bisharat battled back in the second set going 6-3 and then help strong in a close ten point tie breaker 10-8, to get the overall win. In other singles play Elisaveta Pironkova had a close three set match against Michelle Murphy but fell 7-6 in the third. Bisharat gave the Lions their only point on the day making the overall match 6-1.
