Results

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU women's tennis team suffered a close loss this afternoon to Cal State Northridge, 4-3. The non-conference duel match was held at Matador Tennis Complex. The Lions were led with a doubles win from Reka Rohonyi and Elisaveta Pironkova on court two and singles wins from Freshman Miya Jin, April Bisharat, and senior Elisaveta Pironkova.

In doubles the Lions earned a win on court two from Reka Rohonyi and Elisaveta Pironkova. The duo defeated Pistalu/Man-Son-Hing 8-3 on court two for the Lion's first win of the day. On court one, Doane/Sher defeated April Bisharat and Melissa Valenzuela 8-3 while on court three Sirojiddinova/Yang defeated Jin/LaPorte of LMU 8-2. The doubles point went to the Matadors.

In singles play the Lions earned wins on courts one, three, and six. These three wins brought them close to earning the overall win, but were unable to get the fourth singles win and dropped the match in a close 4-3 overall. On court one, April Bisharat recorded her third straight win over Dosne of Northridge 5-7, 2-2 (retired). Freshman Miya Jin snapped her streak with a big win on court three over Jaworowski 6-7 (7), 6-4, 6-2. On court six Elisaveta Pironkova earned a solid win on 6-1, 6-3 over Yang of Northridge.

The Lions will close out their regular season with a match against UCSB on Saturday April 16th at 1:00pm.
