LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU women's tennis team was unable to hold off Long Beach State today falling 6-1. The Lions sole victory came from freshman Miya Jin on court four where she was able to come back in a tiebreaker after dropping her first set. The Lions fall to 0-4 on the season with this loss.

In doubles play the Lions saw a win from Ashley Anderson and freshman Miya Jin. On court two the duo defeated Long Beach State's Alawi/Jeczmionka 8-2 with strong at the net play and serving. The duo is now 2-2 on the season. Pironkova/Rohonvi 2-2 so far this season dropped 8-1 to the Beach while Bishart and Morgan were also unable to hold them off 8-3.

In singles, the Lions were highlighted by freshman Miya Jin's win on court four. After dropping the first set, Jin came back to win the second set and then a ten point tiebreaker 10-1. Jin sets her record to 3-1 in singles so far this season. On court one, April Bishart took Long Beach's to a third set tiebreaker but was unable to get the win and sets her record to 2-2 overall.

Overall the Lions were looking for the win today but came up short. New up they will be looking for a win when they travel north to face Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA on February 12th at 11:00am.
