Final Stats
Honolulu, Hawai'i- Loyola Marymount women's tennis played the University of Hawai'i on Tuesday at the UH Tennis Complex. The Lions took the doubles point along with five-of-six singles matches to cruise to a 6-1 victory over the Rainbow Wahine. LMU will next play No. 27 Pepperdine Thursday at UH at 10:00 a.m.
In doubles, Pavla Mesterova and Tamara Tanner won the tiebreaker at the No. 1 slot to clinch the doubles point for LMU, defeating Sophie Kobuch and Julia Sandborn, 9-8. Tina Razloznik and Shauna Morgan also came out victorious at No. 3 doubles with their win over Marie Tanaka and Brittany Beswick, 8-2. Jasmin Heckel and Caroline Nothnagel were defeated by Chloe Bihag and Jennifer Goldman on court two, 9-8.
In singles action, 54th-ranked Pavla Mesterova defeated No. 81 Sophia Kobuch at the No. 1 spot (6-4, 6-3), while Tanner won her match at No. 2, beating Julia Sandborn (7-6, 6-2).
LMU got wins on courts three, five and six with Razloznik coming from behind to beat Chloe Bihag in three sets (3-6, 6-0, 6-3), Nothnagel easily beating Marie Tanaka (6-1, 6-0) and Audrey Bulkley taking the match from Jennifer Goldman on court six (6-4, 7-5).
The Rainbow Wahine earned their only point of the day when Natasha Zorec beat Heckel at the No. 4 position (6-4, 6-4).
The Lions will play WCC rival 27th-ranked Pepperdine on Thursday at the University of Hawai'i at 10:00 a.m.
