Kauai, HI -- The Loyola Marymount men's golf team posted a second round 284 to move into a tie for eighth with fellow West Coast Conference foe Gonzaga at the 2008 Kauai Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The top-10 of the field was dominated by the WCC as San Francisco is two strokes ahead of LMU and Gonzaga in seventh while San Diego leads the field thanks to a second round 267.
The Lions second round score came after a first round 291 on Monday to put them with a two round score of 575 (7-over par) heading into Wednesday's final round at the par-71 Puakea Golf Course. USD leads the field with a 15-under 553.
Senior Greg Moss led the Lions on Tuesday with a second round 69. The round of two-under par moves him into a tie for 32nd with a two-round score of 145. He sites one stroke behind Jake Sarnoff, who after two rounds as a score of 144. Sarnoff posted a second round score of even par.
Leading the Lions after two rounds is senior Brian Locke. He posted an even par second round and is one-under par for the tournament with a 141.
Sophomore John Lim and junior Blake Nicolai are tied for 43rd after they each posted a second round score of 73. They each share two-round scores of 147.
