El Cajon, CA -- The Loyola Marymount men's golf team finished the 2008 Sycuan Collegiate Invitational with a three-round 867 to place 10th in the 20-team field at Willow Glen Golf Course in El Cajon, Calif., on Tuesday. Freshman Jake Sarnoff continues his impressive play early in his career as he finishes tied for 11th.
The Lions posted a final round 291 to finish three-over par for the tournament. They were six strokes behind Fresno State and San Jose State, who finished tied for eighth. Colorado State won the tournament with an 27-under par 837.
As for Sarnoff, he finises with a final round 72 for a tournament score of 211, five-under par. Making the biggest move on the day was senior Brian Locke who posted a final round 69 for a three-round score of 217 (one-over par). He finished in a tie for 46th.
Senior Greg Moss finished one stroke behind Locke with a 218. He posted a final round of 74 to finish in a tie for 55th. Sophomore John Lim finished in a tie fir 75th with a final score of 222 (6-over).
Blake Nicolai rounded out the scores with a 225, good for a tie at 93rd.
The Lions head to the Bill Cullum Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 27-28 at Wood Ranch in Simi Valley.
