Goodyear, Ariz. (April 7) - The Loyola Marymount University men's golf team is in eighth place out of 18 teams at the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invitational after the first two-rounds of play on Monday, April 7.
The Lions finished the day with a total score of 583, seven-over par. The Lions are a stroke behind the University of Utah and the University of Idaho for sixth place at six-over par. Leading the field is Cal State Bakersfield with a 13-under par 563.
Junior Joe Legacy led all Lions with a one-under par two-round score of 143. He shot a one-under 71 in the first round and then a even-par 72 in round two. He is in a seven-way tie for 11th place in the 90-man field. He is one stroke out of fifth place and three strokes out of fourth.
Freshman Andrew Patterson continues his solid first year with the Lions with a one-over par 145 on the day. He is in a seven-way tie for 20th place. Freshman Chaz Inouye finished with a three-over 147 to place in a tie for 32nd and junior Will Luciano is in 39th place with a four-over 148.
Freshman Dean Delaye rounds out the field with a 13-over 157.
The Lions will finish the three-round Invitational with the final round on Tuesday.
