Simi Valley, CA (Oct. 21) - Loyola Marymount men's golf sophomore Chaz Inouye finished the first two rounds of the BillCullum/Countrywide Intercollegiate golf tournament with a four-under 170 to place in a tie for third place on Monday.
Inouye is two strokes out of first place after shooting a two-under 70 in both the first and second rounds of the Intercollegiate. Inouye, who finished third in the West Coast Conference championships last spring, trails Ryan Thornberry of Cal State Stanislaus and Ryan Dwight of Cal Poly, both of whom finished with a two-round score of 138. Inoue is tied with Yoshio Yamamoto of Austin Peay State.
Inouye will look for his first ever tournament win in the final round today, Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Despite the solid play of Inouye, the Lions are in 20th with a score 624. Rounding out the scores for the Lions was Brandon von Doehren at 153, Gavin Witzer at 159, Joe Legacy at 162 and Peter Heilbron at 165.
