ALPHARETTA, Ga. - LMU placed 12th in the 14-team field at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Georgia Tech, with a 54-hole team total of 876 (+12). The field included six other teams ranked in the top 50, and the Lions entered the week ranked No. 48. The tournament was played on a par-72, 7,068-yard layout in Alpharetta, Georgia.
LMU opened with a 287 (-1) in each of the first two rounds before a 302 (+14) in the final round.
Nateeshvar Anatha Ganesh led LMU with a 54-hole total of 217 (+1) to tie for 21st. He shot 72-73-72 and finished each round within one stroke of par. He opened with four birdies in round one, made an eagle on the par-5 first hole in round two and closed with four birdies in the final round to card an even-par 72.
Daniel Bullen was next for LMU at 219 (+3) and tied for 41st. He opened the tournament with a 3-under 69, the low round of the week for the Lions, which included birdies on Nos. 5, 11, 13 and 18. He followed with a 72 and finished with a 78. Bullen tied for the third-best score in the field on par 3s, averaging 3.08 (+1).
Ethan Hoffmann tied for 46th at 220 (+4). He shot 71 in each of the first two rounds, making four birdies in round two, and finished with a 78.
Joseph Buttress tied for 58th at 223 (+7) with rounds of 75, 72 and 76. He made an eagle on the par-5 18th hole in round two and another on the par-4 second hole in round three. Buttress averaged 4.50 (-6) on par 5s.
Noah Peens tied for 62nd at 224 (+8) after shooting 76, 72 and 76. He eagled the 18th hole in round two and the par-5 ninth hole in round three. Peens averaged 4.42 (-7) on par 5s.
The Lions led the entire field with five eagles, two each from Buttress and Peens and one from Ganesh. LMU also posted the second-best team result in the field on par 5s, finishing 21 under (4.65 average).
