Jamgotchian’s Unforgettable Weekend Earns D1Softball Weekly Honors

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - LMU softball senior catcher, Izzy Jamgotchian, has been named the D1Softball Mid-Major Player of the Week after a record-shattering weekend that showcased her power, discipline, and flair for the dramatic.

Jamgotchian led the Lions to a 3-0 sweep of Pacific, putting together one of the most dominant performances in the country. She hit .571 with a .750 on-base percentage and a 2.286 slugging percentage, totaling four home runs, 10 RBIs, six runs scored, and five walks while reaching base in nine of her 12 plate appearances.

Her weekend was defined by clutch heroics, as Jamgotchian launched two walk-off home runs – first in Friday's 13-3 run-rule victory and again in Sunday's series finale – to secure both wins and complete the sweep in dramatic fashion.

In the process, Jamgotchian continued to climb both the LMU and national record books. She extended her lead as LMU's all-time career RBI leader, now with 177, while also increasing her program-record career walks total to 123. Her plate discipline has translated to a conference milestone as well, as she now holds the WCC single-season walks record with 48.

Her power surge pushed her to a new personal single-season high of 19 home runs, which ranks second in LMU program history, trailing only Sam Fischer's 23 in 2012. She has also driven in 52 runs this season, placing her second all-time in LMU single-season history, just behind Fischer's program record of 59.

On the national stage, Jamgotchian's career numbers continue to stand among the best in Division I softball. She is now tied for No. 8 among active Division I players in career home runs with 56, ranks No. 11 in career walks with 123, and is tied for No. 19 in career RBIs, highlighting her consistency and production at the highest level.

Defensively, Jamgotchian remained a steady presence behind the plate, recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 14 putouts over the weekend.

This national recognition adds to an already decorated week for Jamgotchian and further solidifies her as one of the premier hitters in the country and a driving force behind LMU's continued success this season.
