Jamgotchian Earns WCC Player of the Week Honors After Record-Breaking Weekend

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - After a historic and dominant weekend at the plate, LMU softball senior catcher Izzy Jamgotchian has been named West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced.

Jamgotchian powered the Lions to a perfect 3-0 weekend, delivering one of the most impressive individual performances in the conference this season. The senior posted an outstanding .571 batting average (BA), .750 on-base percentage (OBP), and 2.286 slugging percentage (SLG) across the three-game series, totaling four home runs, 10 RBIs, six runs scored, and five walks while reaching base in nine of her 12 plate appearances.

Her biggest moment came in the series finale on Alumni Day, when she launched a walk-off three-run home run to secure the sweep for LMU. The clutch blast capped off a weekend in which Jamgotchian consistently delivered in high-pressure situations, anchoring the Lions' offense with power and discipline.

Beyond her on-field production, Jamgotchian continued to etch her name into both LMU and WCC history. During the weekend, she became LMU's all-time career RBI leader and now stands at 177 and counting. She also extended her program record for career walks with 123 while breaking the WCC single-season walks record with 48, surpassing her own mark of 44 set during the 2025 season.

Additionally, Jamgotchian set a new personal single-season home run record with 19, which ranks second in LMU program history behind Sam Fischer's 23 in 2012. Her 52 RBIs this season also place her second all-time in LMU single-season history, trailing only Fischer's program record of 59.

Defensively, Jamgotchian remained steady behind the plate, recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 14 putouts across the weekend.

Jamgotchian's all-around performance not only led LMU to a series sweep but further solidified her standing as one of the most accomplished players in program and conference history.
