Walker’s First Career Homer, O’Dell’s One-Hit Gem Lead Lions to Shutout Win

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - LMU softball wasted no time asserting control on Friday afternoon, erupting for eight runs across the first two innings en route to an 8-0 shutout win over Pacific at Smith Field.

The Lions came out aggressive from the first pitch, setting the tone early. Avery Francis sparked the offense with a leadoff single and stolen base before Izzy Jamgotchian continued her record-breaking season, launching a two-run home run to center to give LMU an early advantage.

LMU kept its foot on the gas in the second inning, stringing together five runs on five hits to break the game wide open. Sydney Poole delivered a two-run double to the gap, and moments later, Taelor Walker provided a milestone moment crushing her first career home run, a three-run shot to right field that brought the Lions' dugout to life and pushed the lead to 8-0.

While the offense did its job early, Lindsay O'Dell was nothing short of exceptional in the circle. The right-hander dominated from start to finish, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing just one hit across five innings. She kept Pacific off balance all afternoon, working efficiently and shutting down any chance of a comeback.

At the plate, LMU totaled 11 hits, with contributions up and down the lineup. Sakora Harvell led the way with a 2-for-2 performance, while Francis added a hit, a walk, and two runs scored. Jamgotchian reached base three times, finishing with a home run, two RBIs, and multiple walks as she continues to build on her historic season.

With her home run, Jamgotchian now owns a new personal single-season best with 18 home runs, continuing to climb the LMU record books, while also adding to her already record-setting WCC single-season walk total of 47.

Behind a dominant start, a breakout moment from Walker, and continued history from Jamgotchian, the Lions cruised to the run-rule victory and improved to 30-15 overall and 7-4 in WCC play.
