STOCKTON, Calif. — No. 58 LMU men's tennis picked up a 4-1 road victory over Pacific, improving to 13-1 on the season and extending the best start in program history.

Pacific took the doubles point, winning at No. 1 where Alex Padro Parra and Max Wuelfing fell 3-6, and at No. 3 Cyrus Ahmad and Darius Tamaddon dropped a 1-6 decision. Emil Kindhult and Cesar Cruz were up 5-3 at No. 3 when the point was conceded.

LMU responded by winning four of the six singles courts to take the match. Tristan Messerli got the Lions on the board first at No. 6, cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Cruz followed with an equally dominant 6-2, 6-1 performance at No. 2, and Padro kept the momentum going at No. 4, winning 6-4, 6-4.

Wuelfing closed it out at No. 1, clinching the match for the Lions with a 6-4, 7-5 win. Kuba Hrynkiewicz and Emil Kindhult had matches in progress at the time, Kindhult in a third set after a first-set tiebreak loss, and Hrynkiewicz ahead in his second, when play was stopped with the result decided.

LMU's 13-1 record remains the finest opening to a season in program history.
