LOUDON, Tenn. – The first round of the 2025-26 season is completed. On Friday, the LMU golf team's starting five played 18 holes apiece to begin the Visit Knoxville Collegiate from Tennessee National Golf Club. As a team, the Lions shot 4-over par but were led by a 3-under opening round from
Trevor Algya.
Algya played a clean round, shooting nothing over par to finish at 67. With recorded pars on the first 11 holes before hitting back-to-back birdies on 12 and 13. After four more pars, Algya lowered his score to 3-under on the day with a third birdie of the round on 18. Algya sits in a nine-way tie for eighth.
In his first round as a Lion,
Nateesh Anatha Ganesh led the team with four birdies on the day. Anatha Ganesh finished at 1-over par after shooting a 35 on the back nine.
Louie Liu shared tournament-high marks with 16 pars, one ahead of Algya's 15. Liu and Gutierrez sit tied at 3-over after Gutierrez shot a 34 on the back nine.
Daniel Bullen closed out the LMU five his his 74.
As a team, the Lions are in 10
th place in the 16-team field.
Tournament play continues Saturday morning with the second round. Bullen will tee off from Hole 1 at 8:46 AM EST, following by Gutierrez, Anatha Ganesh, Liu, and then Algya in 11-minute intervals.
