SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference announced today that Scottsdale Stadium in Scottsdale, Ariz., will host the 2026 WCC Baseball Tournament from May 20–23. The historic venue, home to Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants spring training, promises an exciting backdrop for one of college baseball's premier events.
Tournament Format and Schedule
The six-team tournament kicks off Wednesday, May 20, with two opening-round matchups: No. 3 vs. No. 6 and No. 4 vs. No. 5. Winners advance to join the top two seeds in a double-elimination bracket beginning Thursday, May 21. Championship day is set for Saturday, May 23, with the winner earning the WCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
LMU's Recent Success
The Lions have made two recent trips to the WCC Championship in Las Vegas (2023 and 2025), earning the top seed in 2023 and finishing third in 2025 while breaking the tournament homerun record. LMU last captured the WCC title in 2019 en route to an NCAA Regional appearance.
About Scottsdale Stadium
Located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, Scottsdale Stadium has hosted numerous college baseball events, including the MLB Desert Invitational and the Pac-12 Tournament. The spring training home of the San Francisco Giants, the venue also hosts the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League. Opened in 1956 and enhanced over the years, the venue remains one of the nation's premier baseball destinations.
Tournament History
Since its inception in 2013, the WCC Baseball Tournament has been held in Stockton, Calif., and most recently at Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin, Nev. The move to Scottsdale marks an exciting new chapter for the event.
