LOS ANGELES – The 2025 WCC Preseason Awards have been announced, and Loyola Marymount University's
Izzy Jamgotchian,
Mika Chong, and
Arianna Jaurequi have all earned preseason honors.
Jamgotchian, receiving her second preseason recognition, wrapped up a notable sophomore season with 22 runs, 51 hits, eight doubles, 50 RBIs, and 15 home runs. She posted a .707 slugging percentage and was named to the 2024 WCC All-Conference First Team.
Chong secured her first preseason honor after a strong 2024 season, where she recorded 30 runs, 30 RBIs, six home runs, and a .591 slugging percentage. Defensively, she maintained a fielding percentage of .833%. Chong was also a WCC All-Conference First Team selection last season.
Jaurequi earns her first preseason honor after an outstanding 2024 season. She recorded 32 runs, 46 hits, 12 doubles, 22 RBIs, and four home runs, finishing with a .529 slugging percentage. Defensively, she shined with a .985 fielding percentage and 119 putouts. Her strong performance also earned her a spot on the WCC All-Conference First Team last season.
In addition to the individual honors, LMU was ranked second in the WCC Coaches Poll. The Lions finished second in the conference last season, posting a 9-7 WCC record and an overall mark of 28-25.
The Lions will open their 2025 season on Feb. 6 at 4 p.m. against the Southern Jaguars at Smith Field.
