LOS ANGELES - The LMU women's volleyball team is thrilled to announce hiring Haylee Nelson as the new graduate assistant coach for the LMU women's volleyball team. Nelson brings a wealth of playing experience and enthusiasm to the role, marking an exciting new chapter for the LMU volleyball program.

"I am excited to welcome Haylee to our coaching staff," says Coach Kersten. "Her experience as a player and academic background makes her a fantastic addition to our team. I am confident she will positively impact and help our athletes discover their best."

Nelson recently graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in adaptable kinesiology. She excelled academically and athletically as a student-athlete, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication. She was a key contributor to the volleyball team, earning All-Mountain West Conference Team honors for four consecutive years. Her leadership on and off the court and her deep understanding of the game make her an ideal fit for this position.

Nelson has played professionally for the past two years following her collegiate career. Her international journey began in Italy, and she most recently played in Sweden.

In her new role with the Lions, Nelson will work closely with Head Coach Trent Kersten and the rest of the coaching staff to enhance the team's performance and development. Her fresh perspective and innovative approach are expected to bring valuable insights and energy to our program. Nelson is also committed to showing every Lion there is a pathway to professional volleyball and continued playing careers after graduation.

"I'm super excited to be joining LMU and to rejoin Trent and Sarah, says Nelson. "I am grateful to the whole staff for believing in me and letting me be a part of what they are creating going into their second season as a staff and team. Happy to be a part of college volleyball again!"
