Lions Bring Nine WCC Awards Back to the Bluff

LOS ANGELES - LMU's softball team earned an impressive tally of nine accolades following the announcement of the 2024 All-Conference awards and honors by the WCC.
 
Jenna Perez clinches her third consecutive WCC Pitcher of the Year honor. Concluding the regular season with a stellar ERA of 2.23, Perez dominated the league in strikeouts, leading both in total strikeouts and strikeouts looking. Nationally, she ranks 48th in strikeouts and secures the second spot in the WCC with 13 wins.
 
Mika Chong, Izzy Jamgotchian, Arianna Jaurequi, and Perez earn spots on the All-Conference First Team.
 
Chong showcased her skills with 30 RBIs and an impressive .591 slugging percentage. She also topped the conference in batting with a .386 average, 30 runs, 50 hits, and six home runs.
 
Jamgotchian secures her second All-Conference First Team selection after featuring in 51 games for the Lions. With 22 runs, 51 hits, and 15 homers, she leads the WCC in slugging percentage (.707) and RBIs (50).
 
Jaurequi's performance across 52 games includes 46 hits, 32 runs, 22 RBIs, and four home runs. With a notable slugging percentage of .529, she ranks 7th in the WCC. Defensively, Jaurequi shines with a .979 fielding percentage, amassing 131 putouts with only four errors.
 
Savannah Hooks elevated her status from last year's Honorable Mention Team to this season's WCC All-Conference Second Team. In 17 games, she maintained an ERA of 2.51, pitching 67 innings and striking out 48 players.
 
Adele Braun, Lauryn Carter, Hayley Olivas and Jasmine Sofowora were also named to the WCC Honorable Mention Team.

The Lions finished their season 28-25 and finished second in the conference.
