Denser Tosses Complete Game as Lions Run-Rule Seattle U in Six

SEATTLE, Wash. - LMU softball delivered a dominant all-around performance on Saturday afternoon, run-ruling Seattle U, 8-0, in six innings at Logan Field.

Behind a complete game effort from Sawyer Denser and timely offense throughout the lineup, the Lions controlled the game from start to finish to secure the series victory.

LMU wasted no time getting on the board, plating two runs in the opening frame. After working traffic on the bases, Sakora Harvell drove in the first run with an RBI single, followed by Rubi Lopez adding another RBI knock to give the Lions an early 2-0 lead.

From there, Denser took command in the circle. The right-hander was locked in all afternoon, tossing a complete game shutout while allowing just two hits and striking out three. She worked efficiently through six innings, keeping the Redhawks off balance and never allowing a serious scoring threat.

LMU broke the game open in the fourth inning, capitalizing on patience at the plate. The Lions loaded the bases with a series of walks and timely hits before pushing across three runs, highlighted by RBI walks from Izzy Jamgotchian and Sydney Poole, along with a run scoring on a Seattle error to extend the lead to 5-0.

The Lions added the finishing touches in the sixth. Taelor Walker sparked the rally with an RBI double to center, while Harvell and Lopez each drove in runs to cap a three-run inning and push the score to 8-0.

At the plate, LMU totaled eight hits and drew an impressive 11 walks, showcasing discipline and depth throughout the lineup. Walker led the way with a two-hit performance and two runs scored, while Harvell (2-for-4, two RBI) and Lopez (2-for-4, two RBI) provided key production in the middle of the order.

With the run-rule victory secured in six innings, LMU improves to 27-15 overall and 4-4 in WCC play, continuing to build momentum as conference action rolls on.

The Lions will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m. for the series finale against the Redhawks.
