Box Score SAN DIEGO – The Lions fell to San Diego 5-3 on Friday afternoon in a West Coast Conference matchup at Fowler Park in San Diego.Â

The Toreros took the lead in the third inning on a pair of homers. They added another in the fourth on a third solo homerun.Â

The Lions got on the board in the sixth inning to cut into the deficit. Â

Sam Biller and Brendan bobo used a pair of walks to reach before
Christian Dicochea notched the first hit of the day with a single into left field. After a pitching change,
Devan Ornelas lined an RBI single into center field to get the Lions onto the scoreboard.
Grant Weiss was hit by a pitch a batter later to force in Bobo from third.
Connor Blough brought LMU one run closer with a groundout to second base. Â

After a leadoff double and a sacrifice bunt, the Toreros were in line to score again. Benny Casillas fielded a grounder just to his right on the fringe of the infield grass and fired home to save a run and keep the Lions within two heading into the ninth. Â
