LOS ANGELES – LMU men's water polo picked up their third win of the year on Wednesday night in the program's first game under the newly installed overhead lights. The Lions beat the first-year Cal State Fullerton program in the first matchup between the two schools, 12-9.

After the Titans scored first, LMU rattled off three goals in a row to take a 4-1 lead after the opening eight minutes.
Abel Romero Corbalan opened the scoring for LMU, before
Tommaso Baldineti scored the next two and
Kade Margain closed out the quarter with a last-minute goal.
Â
The lead grew to 5-1 Baldineti scored in the first minute of the second period. Cal State Fullerton scored twice before
Jonny Rimlinger ended the visitor's run. The Titans cut it to a two-goal game until Romero Corbalan ended the half with a score to make it 7-4.

Both teams scored twice in the third quarter setting up a thrilling final period. Rimlinger and
Augie Renezeder made it a 9-6 game heading into the final eight minutes.

The two teams traded off goals in the fourth crowd, with LMU responding after each Titans' goal. Romero Corbalan scored twice and
Max Walsworth closed the game with a goal in the closing second.

Stelios Dalmaras made five saves in his 32 minutes in the cage.

The Lions remain at home this weekend, hosting a pair of ranked teams on Saturday and Sunday with Pepperdine and Stanford coming to Burns Aquatics Center.
