Game Recap: Men's Water Polo |

Lions Outscore Opponents 27-9 in Pair of Saturday Wins

LA MIRADA, Calif. – The 10th-ranked LMU men's water polo team put together a complete performance on Saturday beating Fresno Pacific, 11-3, and then closing the Lancer Joust with a 16-6 win over Biola.
 
Game 1: #10 LMU 11, Fresno Pacific 3
 
The Lions never trailed to Fresno Pacific, taking a 5-0 lead after the opening period. The lead grew to as large as 11-1 in the third quarter before FPU scored the final two goals of the match. Augie Renezeder, Alex Marlow, Tyler Harvey, and Tommaso Baldineti each scored two goals apiece in the win, with Denzel Tate, Nick Liung, and Jonny Rimlinger scoring one apiece.
 
LMU used a trio of goalkeepers in the win with Stelios Dalmaras and Finn Friedland each making four saves.
 
Game 2: #10 LMU 16, Biola 6
 
After trailing 1-0, LMU rattled off the next nine goals in the first quarter. LMU then allowed the first goal of the second period before taking a 12-3 halftime lead. The Lions continued to build on the lead increasing it to double-digits before wrapping up with a 16-6 win.
 
Abel Romero Corbalan and Jonny Rimlinger each led all scorers with three goals. Augie Renezeder, Tommaso Baldineti and Andrew Vernon added two more each. Alex Marlow, Max Walsworth, Jack Dunbar, and Nick Leung all scored a goal apiece.
 
Four LMU goalkeepers combined for the win, making a total of 12 saves over the course of the game.

LMU plays its first-ever West Coast Conference game on Sunday, Oct. 15. The Lions will travel to Malibu to face fellow top-10 team Pepperdine for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
