LOS ANGELES, CA – The Loyola Marymount University Lions (3-12-1, 0-0 WCC) open West Coast Conference play this weekend when the Saint Mary's Gaels pay a visit to Page Stadium for three games.
The Lions have won two of the last three series against the Gaels including a pair of games in the WCC Championship Tournament in 2019 en route to their first tournament championship crown.
Entering the weekend
Diego Baqueiro is the conference leader in RBIs with 24 and team leader in home runs and doubles. His hot bat will be looked upon to lead LMU to their first series win of the season.

Devan Ornelas has been a solid contributor to the Lions offense to start the year. He's got 12 hits on the year including a home run, two doubles, one triple, and six RBIs.
On the mound LMU will give the ball to
Diego Barrera Friday night for his first start of the season and third appearance on the year. He's pitched 5.2 innings and is responsible for four strikeouts and boasts an ERA of 1.59.
Coming out of the LMU bullpen
Conner Kershaw has given the Lions good innings in relief in 2022. He's the conference leader in appearances with 10 and has put together 11.2 innings on the mound with eight strikeouts.
The series starts Friday at 6:00 p.m. and continues Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and wraps up on Sunday with a 1:00 p.m. matinee.
