EAGLE ROCK, CA – The Loyola Marymount University Lions men's and women's track and field teams posted banner results on Saturday afternoon at the Oxy Distance Carnival in their first full team meet of the season.

The Lion women were led by
Lauren Wagner who posted a time of 4:39.56 for a fourth place overall finish in the 1500m. Wagner's time was a personal best and placed her #16 on LMU's All-Time List. She was followed by
Shelby Page with her time of 4:56.68, good for 21
st giving LMU two runners finishing in the top 25.

Stella Skovborg finished in 37
th place with a time of 5:02.71 followed by
Kaitlyn Childress who ran a time of 5:04.20 for 40
th overall.

The next event for the Lion women was the 5000m and
Samantha Barajas paced all LMU runners for a heat win and 13
th overall place time of 17:39.05.
Anastasia Russell followed with a time of 17:46.67 for 18
th place and a spot at #11 on the LMU Freshman All-Time List.
Sophia Cortina won her heat of the 5,000m running 19:29.06.

Estanis Ruiz led the men's team in the 1500m with his first place finishing time of 3:49.54. Ruiz's time in the 1500m is #3 in the NCAA at that distance this season. His time also put him at #2 on LMU's All-Time List.Â

Roberto Ruelas finished with a time of 3:54.19 for fifth place putting a pair of Lions in the top 10. Ruelas' time is currently #18 best in the nation and #9 on LMU's All-Time List.Â

Cooper McCarthy and
Adam Trafecanty were the next Lions to cross the line with personal best times of 4:00.53 and 4:01.43, respectively.
Daniel Vaca crossed in 25
th place at 4:03.09 for a personal best while
Christoph Wallner finished in 27
th with his time of 4:03.54.Â

Hunter Krasa finished in 34
th place at 4:04.80 followed by
Zach Arias at 37
th overall with a time of 4:05.54.

The men's team took also to the track in the 800m with
Shane Ely posting a personal best time of 1:58.48. Â

The Lions men posted 10 personal bests on the day.Â

Both the Lions men's and women's team will hit the track next weekend at the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, Arizona on Friday, March 18
th and the Franson Classic on Saturday, March 19
th in Azusa, California.Â
