LOS ANGELES –
Jenna Perez and
Morgan DeBord swept the West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors this week, as Perez earned Pitcher of the Week, while DeBord earned player of the week for the second consecutive week.
The two led the Lions to a 3-2 weekend at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic tournament that was held in Palm Springs, Calif. over the past weekend.
DeBord led the team in batting average, with .353 while recording three home runs and 8 RBIs.
Perez pitched lights out in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. collecting 27 total strikeouts and only allowing 3 runs in 16.0 innings pitched the entire weekend. She recorded a 0.88 ERA and earned one win and one save.
LMU is 8-8 on the season. The Lions will travel to Fullerton, Calif. for the Judi Garman Classic for another 5-game series tournament. Their first game will be played on Thursday, Mar. 3 at 3:30 p.m. PST against the Cal Poly Mustangs.
