LOS ANGELES, CA – The Loyola Marymount University Lions were in every game over their first weekend series and went toe-to-toe with No. 20 UC Santa Barbara and are looking to break through when the Creighton Bluejays pay a visit to Page Stadium.
The Lions, in the middle of their season long 11-game homestand, will host the Bluejays for the first time in school history when the two teams take the field on Friday night.
LMU has been getting significant contributions from
Diego Baqueiro and
Sam Biller to start the season. Baqueiro, the team leader in slugging percentage at .529, is first in the West Coast Conference and seventh in the nation in RBIs with 10. His hot bat and timely hitting have contributed to the Lions scoring at least five runs per game.
Biller, the team leader in batting average at .357, is responsible for four of the Lions 28 runs scored this season in addition to being tied for the team lead in hits with five. He's been the table setter for the Lions early on this season.
The Lions will begin the three-game set against the Bluejays with righty
Jimmy Galicia going opposite right handed pitcher Dylan Tebrake.
First pitch between LMU and Creighton is set for 6:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
