The Lions enter the weekend winners of three-straight conference series and four out of their last five against WCC foes. When the Tigers visit Page, LMU will go for their fifth series win out of their last six played against Pacific.
Heading into the weekend the Lions duo of
Julian Bury and
Kenny Oyama continue to pace the team in batting average, on base percentage, and hits. Oyama's team leading 16 stolen bases has him third in the conference and 68th in the nation.
Another Lion looking to close out the year strong is
Alec Cargin who's hit safely in nine of the past 12 games played. Cargin, the team leader in home runs, triples, runs, and slugging percentage continues to punish opposing team's pitchers. His three triples place him first in the WCC and 77th in the nation.
On the mound the Lions continue to get solid production from
Josh Agnew. In Agnew's last three starts he's gone at least 6 2/3 innings with a combined 11 strikeouts. His five wins paces the team and he's in the top five in ERA and innings pitched for LMU.
The Lions bullpen has been strong all year in relief.
Holden Christian and
Matt Voelker have produced on the mound whenever their name has been called. Christian is the team-leader in ERA at 0.77 and has four saves on the year. His four saves put him at eighth in the conference. Voelker has made 20 appearances on the year, which is fourth in the WCC, and has a team-leading five saves on the year.
