Meet Info
Â
LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University Lions men's and women's Track and Field teams return to the campus of Azusa Pacific University this weekend for the APU Last Chance Twilight. The two-day meet will see LMU compete in the 3,000m steeplechase, 5,000m, and 1,500m events.
Â
On Friday night, the men's 1,500m will see
Shane Ely go for a fourth consecutive personal record. Ely has steadily improved throughout the 2021 track season and posted a 3:54.77 at last week's Distance Carnival for a top 10 finish. The women's 1,500m feature
Ann Kelly,
Avery Doan, and
Shelby Page.
On Saturday night,Â
Roc Johnson will hit the track first for the Lions in his quest for a regional qualifying mark in the 3,000m steeplechase. Johnson has continuously posted personal records this season and currently sits at #62 on the regional qualifying list with his 9:08.88 mark at last week's Distance Carnival. He'll be shooting for a sub-9:00 performance and new school record to put himself in position to qualify for the post-season. Â
Â
To cap off the meet for the Lions
Dani Rowlinson will toe the line looking for another personal record in the women's 5,000m. At last week's Distance Carnival Rowlinson ran 17:51.77 for a top 12 finish and will look to improve upon that mark on Saturday night.
