LMU Women’s Tennis Will Not Compete in 2020-2021 Season

LOS ANGELES – Due to the unforeseen impact of COVID-19 restrictions, the Loyola Marymount University women's tennis team will not compete in the 2020-21 season.

Multiple international student-athletes are unable to enter the United States due to federal Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) guidelines as well as Los Angeles County restrictionswhich prevent LMU from increasing in-person instruction and on-campus activities this semester. With additional injuries and health-related concerns, LMU does not have enough student-athletes to compete during the 2020-21 season.

Both athletic director Craig Pintens and head coach Agustin Moreno expressed their disappointment in having to withdraw from competition this season, particularly when the Lions were picked to finish No. 3 in the conference. Senior, Veronica Miroshnichenko was also selected for the All-WCC Preseason Team.

All of the women's tennis student-athletes will be granted an additional year of eligibility.
