LOS ANGELES – Following the 2,500+ mile trip back from Florida to Los Angeles, LMU men's basketball is back home and ready to host more games. The Lions bring in Prairie View A&M for a Saturday night contest. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM and will stream on WCC Network.
The Lions host the final two games of the first month of the season with the Panthers on Saturday night, then Grand Canyon coming to Gersten Pavilion two days later for a Monday night showdown.
The last time Prairie View A&M hit the court was against those GCU Antelopes. Back on Nov. 17, the Panthers played in Phoenix and lost to the Lopes, 91-64. There will be a 10-day gap before the winless Panthers will play again, coming to The Bluff for this game on the night of the 27
th.
The Lions have benefitted from the hot shooting of
Joe Quintana over the first five games of the season. Quintana leads the country with 4.6 three-point field goals made per game. As of Friday, his 52.3 percent shooting mark from long range ranks 18
th in the nation.
LMU also has two of the top five players in steals per game in the WCC. Quintana leads the conference at 2.20 steals per game, and
Cam Shelton ranks fifth in the conference at 1.80 steals per contest.
The Lions will close play the final game of a tripleheader at Gersten Pavilion. LMU's women's team is hosting a Thanksgiving Tournament with games at 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM. If the women's tournament runs late, the men's game will be given a 30-minute warmup period after the conclusion of the women's games, if a 7:00 tip is not possible.
