LOS ANGELES – Despite the three-week hiatus from games, LMU men's basketball is cleared to return to the court and resume the season. The Lions (5-3, 0-0 WCC) are poised to make their conference debuts this weekend, hosting San Francisco (8-5, 2-1 WCC) on Sunday afternoon. The game will tip off at 4:00 pm and air on the WCC Network.
LMU enters the weekend with the conference's second-longest win streak after earning three consecutive wins to close out December. Only unbeaten and top-ranked Gonzaga has a longer win streak among WCC teams.
San Francisco comes off a second-half surge to defeat Portland on Thursday. The Dons outscored the Pilots 47-21 after intermission to earn the 24-point win and move to 2-1 in the WCC. USF's three WCC games played lead the conference.
Both teams enter the game with three players averaging double-figures, although
Keli Leaupepe is nearly on pace with his 9.9 points per game.
Dameane Douglas (14.0 ppg) and
Eli Scott (13.9 ppg) are a single point apart from one another this year, scoring 112 and 111 total points, respectively.
Joe Quintana is also averaging double-digits at 10.8 ppg.
The Lions will look to maintain home court and remain unbeaten on The Bluff this year, while San Francisco's wins have been scattered with three coming at home, two on the road, and three in neutral venues. USF opened the season with two wins at the Mohegan Sun Bubbleville Pod, which was highlighted by a one-point victory over then fourth-ranked Virginia.
Live stats will be available on Statbroadcast. Streaming and radio information is available on the team's schedule online as well.
