Loyola Marymount University starting catcher Cooper Uhl has been signed by the Oakland A's following the conclusion of the 2020 Major League Baseball Draft.
 
Uhl led LMU in 2020 with a .361 average this spring, starting all 16 games for the Lions. His team-leading 22 hits also included an LMU-best five doubles. Uhl is tied for the West Coast Conference lead in walks with 14, giving him a team-best .487 on base percentage.

He also led the Lions in multiple hit games with seven and was on a seven-game hitting streak and twelve-game reached bases streak.
 
Over his four-year career, Uhl finishes with 132 hits and 64 RBI, having started 154 of 164 games. Uhl started every game of the postseason in 2019 to help LMU claim the WCC Title and return to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2000.
