The Loyola Marymount University Lions baseball team (3-7, 0-0 WCC) was in a tight battle all day against the UC Davis Aggies and found their Friday game suspended due to darkness after 13 innings knotted at two apiece.

The Lions and Aggies resumed their game in the top of the 14
thinning and that's when the marathon began. LMU got a two-out double from
Alex Lambeau in the 14
thbut couldn't bring him home. The Lions kept the game alive after
Kenny Oyama threw out an Aggie runner trying to score from second with a beautiful throw to
Cooper Uhl to preserve the 2-2 tie.Â

Both teams settled into a groove all the way through the 19
thinning, then the Lions broke through in the visiting half of the 22
nd.Â
Cole Roberts scored the go-ahead run on an error by the Aggies center fielder for a one run edge. With the Lions up a run UCD tied the game in the bottom of the 22
ndon a sacrifice fly knotting the game at 3-3.Â

The Lions didn't threaten in the 23
rdor 24
thwhich allowed UCD an opportunity to win the game in the home half of the 24
th. The Aggies loaded the bases on the Lions and with one out hit a shot to center field, brining in the run and ending the game 4-3.Â

Beginning the series for LMU with his third start of the season was righty
Josh Agnew (1-1) and the senior was solid on the bump. He gave head coach
Nathan Choate his best outing of the young season. He produced seven innings of six hit baseball to go along with five strikeouts and no walks against 27 UCD batters.Â

Agnew didn't factor in the decision but picking up right where he left off was
Kyle Mora and the redshirt senior was strong against the Aggies. Mora was in command in his three innings, giving up a hit and striking out two of the 11 batters he faced.Â

The Lions got on the board right from the onset by bringing in a pair of runs in the visiting half of the first. LMU put runners on the corners after
Cole Roberts was moved over to third off the
Trevin Esquerra single.
Dylan Dennis sent a shot to the Aggies shortstop but his errant throw allowed both Lions runners to come home, giving LMUa two run lead.

LMU had their lead cut in half as the Aggies brought in a run in the home half of the first on a sacrifice fly. With the Lions up by one they loaded the bases in the top of the fourth but a strikeout and groundout ended the threat.Â

The Aggies tied the game at two in the bottom of the fifth off a solo homerun. Both teams went quietly in the sixth but LMU put a pair of runners in scoring position in the seventh but couldn't bring them home after a pair of groundouts ended the inning.Â

Both the Lions and Aggies went quietly from the eighth through the tenth but in the bottom of the 11
thLMU was able to get out of a jam after UCD loaded the bases. With the bases loaded the Lions got a pair of punchouts to end the threat and move the game to the 12
th.Â

In the top of the 13
thLMU had runners on first and second but a pop up and a groundout ended the rally. The Lions retired the Aggies in the bottom of the 13
thand then the game was suspended due to darkness.

The Lions and Aggies resume their series tomorrow morning with the first game of the doubleheader starting at 11:00 a.m.
