Meet Results

The Loyola Marymount University Lions men's and women's track team had their first competition of the 2020 season this past weekend at the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers meet at Strehle Track.
 
The Lions were bolstered by the return of fifth-year senior Koby Pederson who ran a career-best 8:25.30 in the men's 3000 meters, good for a second place finish. Pederson's finish ranked him fourth on the LMU All-Time List in the 3000m.
 
In addition to Pederson's performance, freshman Estanis Ruiz finished fourth in the 3000m with a career-best 8:30.30, putting him ninth on the LMU All-Time List and the only freshman in the Top-10 LMU All-Time.
 
LMU's Ethan Frisone ran a career-best 8:36.84 in the 3000m good for 17^thon the All-Time List. Shane Ely wasn't too far behind Frisone with a 8:49.35 which placed him 20^thon the Freshman All-Time List. Luca Cannuscio won the third heat for the Lions in a very tight battle, edging out his opponent by .08 seconds for a career-best 9:07.28.
 
The Lions Hannah Wohlenberg finished the women's 3000m in third place with a time of 10:13.24. Wohlenberg was followed quickly by Samantha Barajas, competing in her first meet for the Lions, with a time of 10:33.92. Avery Doan's time of 10:36.64 was a career-best and placed her ninth in the event. 
 
The Lions finished the day with 10 career-best performances and will look to build on their first meet when they travel to San Jose, Calif. February 22^ndfor the West Coast Invitational Quad Meet.
